United Methodists are very scrupulous about prison ministry. Because criminals within the correctional facilities are often sentenced according to secular laws. Therefore, the mission of the church prison ministry is to use the opportunity to share Christ with the “astray souls”. St. Luke’s is heading back to Russia – twice in 2016 – to share God’s love and bring hope to the world! We will renew friendships in Ulyanovsk that began more than 20 years ago, and work alongside our Russian family of faith in several areas: helping handicapped young adults, meeting with retirement home residents, collaborating with the Ulyanovsk UMC in Bible study, and so much more. Thanks to God, by His mercy, already for 4th year we were able to have youth camp for the youth and young adults from Ukraine and Moldova. Every year we do all possible to find resources for the camp, to make participation in the camp affordable for everyone.
