Renewing relations with God
Academy for Spiritual Formation 2017
Issyk-Kul Lake (Kyrgyzstan)
Every Christian experiences periods of stagnation, spiritual “droughts” and devastation during the process of spiritual growth. We all need renewal.
Jesus lived a full life. Almost every day of His ministry was intensive in communication with people. Some came to Him late at night. He was pleaded to help even when He wanted to have a little rest after a hard day. But Jesus showed us an example of spiritual renewal. His relationship with Heavenly Father was always filled with extraordinary intimacy. And it gave Jesus strength and joy to serve people.
The Academy for Spiritual Formation was held in June 25-30, 2017 on Issyk-Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan. The theme was “Renewing relations with God”. It was a blessed time in communion with God through prayer, solitude and silence, reading of Scripture, liturgy and communication in small groups. In addition we enjoyed the beauty of the Kyrgyz Mountains and the fresh water of Issyk-Kul. I thank our brothers and sisters in Central Asia for their radical hospitality. Special gratitude to the director of the Academy for Spiritual Formation pastor Fyodor Kim and the whole team of leaders. Your ministry transforms people’s lives.
If you still have not participated in the Academy for Spiritual Formation you will have the opportunity to become a member of it in 2018. Follow the calendar of the UMC in Eurasia.
With love in Christ,
