Participants come here as volunteers but become missionaries. Every year, young people gather in Crystal center to make this place better and more convenient, mainly for people with special needs who regularly come to Crystal for summer camps.
During a week, the guys work together to help put things in order and renovate the dilapidated premises and the territory of the center. Sometimes these are physically difficult or new tasks for them. But the main work takes place invisibly in their hearts. Every working day starts and ends with prayer and praise. Pastors share the word live or online – new realities in the context of the pandemic. At nights in small groups, participants talk about the nature of mission and share inspiring examples of missionary work. Here they make a decision to “go into the world” to do deeds of mercy.
“A long time ago I realized that the mission in Crystal center is not only a mission for me- it is a necessary part of my summer, it is an event that I don’t want to miss, it is my place of strength and inspiration.
This year, the participants from Voronezh, Vladikavkaz, Moscow and Belgorod and I worked on the most necessary tasks of the center: we cleaned the main building and wooden houses, cleaned the flower beds, painted curbs and freed the territory from the remains of burnt houses.
I love this place more and more every year, maybe because every year God increases my workload in this mission. This year I helped to organize the spiritual part, which I have never done before. It turned out very cool. It was joyful to know that there were also blessed camps for people with special needs in Crystal – Bethel and Salt.
While people who especially need love and care come to the center, the Crystal center needs to be maintained. I invite everyone to come serve here and get the power of the Holy Spirit in this place”.
