On August 22-28, 2019, the fifth Academy of Spiritual Formation of the United Methodist Church in Eurasia was held at the Solnechnye Karpaty boarding house.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The topic was “The Time of Grace”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The place for the Academy was unique. The very nature of Transcarpathia is an expression of the Grace of God’s creation, and a cozy boarding house with single occupancy, harmonious landscape design filled with this gift of God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The schedule was so balanced that the participants of the institute were able to rest and recover spiritually and physically. The aim of the academy was to renew spiritual life through study, worship, silence and solitude, communication and discipline.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The faculty –  Olga Kobzeva and Stas Osipov – taught these topics based on the Wesleyan understanding of Grace, in the light of the Bible, tradition, reason and experience. Every day a new design of the altar created by Irina Margulis and Nadezhda Sharopina helped to feel God even deeper.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yulia Stukalova, Fedor Kim, Nadezhda Sharopina led the worship. The participants in hymns and prayers were led by the Holy Spirit in the worship services which were developed by Yulia Starodubets, Elena Kim and Irina Margulis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The hospitality group, Alla Vuksta, Dmitry Lysin and Vasilina Kogutka created the atmosphere and conditions for a comfortable stay. This five-day Institute of Spiritual Formation required many months of preparation, regular Skype discussions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

40 participants from Uzhgorod, Perechyn, Kamyanitsa, Lvov, Chernivtsi, Kiev, Kharkov, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Satka, Astana, Komsomolsk-na-Amure appreciated the good level of homilies of the team members, carefully thought out worship services, communication in Covenant groups …<\/p>\n\n\n
